A few months ago, content creator WishYouLuckk shared a number of details about the upcoming Beyond Light expansion for Destiny 2. At the time, it was impossible to confirm whether any of the details were true, but one by one many of them were proven accurate. From the Adored sniper rifle being a pinnacle weapon for Crucible to the Stasis abilities for the various classes, almost all of Wish’s information was confirmed.

One of the last dangling pieces of information that has yet to be confirmed is the release window for the Vault of Glass raid. According to WishYouLuckk’s source, the Destiny 1 raid will be re-releasing in either Season 13 or Season 14 of Destiny 2. That’s still a somewhat wide window but it does give players an idea of when they might expect to see the endgame content return.
The source also claims that the Vault of Glass experience will be very familiar to the version seen in Destiny 1. There will be some new enemies to fight and potentially some new mechanics, but it does not sound as though Bungie is completely revamping the endgame encounters. Players should still expect to go from Confluxes to Templar to Atheon as the key encounters of the raid. When exactly they will be doing all this, either for the first time or for the 100th time, is unclear.
Given Destiny 2’s 3-month cadence for seasons, it’s likely that Season 13 will start at some point in February 2021 and Season 14 will begin at some point in May 2021. Of course, that is assuming that Bungie will be sticking to its usual 3 months per season plan. It’s very possible that seasons could be extended or shortened because of the Destiny 2: Beyond Light delay. With the expansion launching in November and not the usual September, there is a strong possibility that the whole Destiny calendar has been shifted backward.
For many Destiny 2 players, Vault of Glass still stands as their favorite raid. There is admittedly something special about the first but it’s hard to deny that Bungie honed its design skills as time went on. Either way, it should be fun to jump back into the raid and see what new twists the devs might add.
