Epic Games’ forever-popular battle royale title, Fortnite, has just gone through a game-changing event called Fracture. In it, players watched the creation of the new map to come to Chapter 4.
The event kicked off today, December 3, at 4 PM ET, and once it came to a close, players were faced with a splash screen showing the newly created map in the distance. And as of the time of writing, Fortnite’s servers are down, meaning that nobody can get in and play any online modes until Chapter 4 officially starts.

When Is Fortnite Coming Back Online?
The official Twitter accounts for Fortnite have yet to state the exact time that the battle royale will come back online, but it’s expected that gamers will be able to get back in about 12 hours after the end of the Fracture event, which should be about 4-5 AM ET / 1-2 AM PT on Sunday, December 4. Of course, with the launch of a brand-new chapter (and season) can come with plenty of server overload issues, so there could be extra downtime. Regardless of any delays, Chapter 4 should still start sometime on December 4.
What are the Crossovers for Chapter 4 of Fortnite?
In the cinematic trailer that sends off chapter 3 and starts the era of chapter 4, fans have spotted several iconic characters that will definitely be making their way into the Battle Pass (or the shop) as skins.
Marvel’s The Incredible Hulk showed up in the trailer, as well as Geralt from The Witcher; there was also a harvesting tool that had a style similar to All Might from the hit anime, My Hero Academia. Since there have been previous anime collaborations, like the Dragon Ball one, it makes sense for there to be some sort of My Hero representation in Fortnite.
Of course, as with any new season, there are bound to be even more cameos waiting to be revealed. It’ll be interesting to see what Chapter 4 is titled and how the new map will play. There have been rumors already that motorcycles will make it into Chapter 4 at some point; whether that’s in season 1 or later is yet to be confirmed.
Fortnite is free-to-play on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
