Like “Queer Eye,” “Straight Plan” is fortunate to have a go-to jokester in its crew, the rotund “Appearance Guy,” Billy Merritt. When the foursome give Jonathan a pep talk before his big day, Merritt coaches him not to smile: “Smiling means you’re happy. Happy means you’re gay.” Alas, one day in hetero hell turns out to be plenty for Jonathan. In the end, he gets his teacups back.
